Soft skills and emotional intelligence skills are central to flourishing professionally and personally. Through its underlying principles and hands-on games played in a challenging yet supportive environment, Improv comedy can be a fun, engaging and powerful way to supercharge these skills in a short space of time. Participants of these workshops experience improved resilience a greater tolerance of uncertainty and enhanced social confidence.
On your marks! Participants will receive an introduction explaining what Improv is and why it’s useful in training.
Get set! There will be a couple of whole-group warm-up exercises to get people used to responding quickly and instinctively.
Go! In the main body of the workshop, improv exercises and games will be used to explore themes such as adaptability under pressure, building confidence in ambiguity and strengthening personal resilience. The games will be simple to understand, low-risk, and fun, while still creating moments where participants gain insight into how improv skills connect to their role.

Working in threes, two people role-play a simple scene such as a job interview. The third person is the facilitator and is to intermittently shout “New choice!”. Whenever the facilitator says “New choice!”, the last line or small action must change until the facilitator is satisfied.
For example:
Person A: Your CV is impressive.
FACILITATOR: New choice!
Person A: Your CV is interesting.
FACILITATOR: New choice!
Person A: Your CV is a disgrace.
